Arsenal boss Unai Emery has been discussing his hopes for striker Eddie Nketiah’s loan spell at Leeds United. The Whites secured the services of the talented Gunners striker on a loan deal until the end of the season on transfer deadline day.
Leeds United needed a replacement for Kemar Roofe, who had made a move to Anderlecht. Nketiah, who was wanted by several other clubs, eventually agreed on a move to Elland Road.
It came after an impressive pre-season with Arsenal and the club’s boss Unai Emery admitted to Football.London that he was initially reluctant to let Nketiah go this summer.

However, it seems the player pushed for a loan opportunity and Emery is happy he has headed to Leeds.
“My first decision was not to let him leave. But after he spoke with me and [considering] the possibility of how many matches he is going to play with us, I said to him I could give him a lot of minutes this year but maybe he can improve more playing regularly 90 minutes each Sunday with Leeds.”

The 20-year-old striker has proven in pre-season just how potent he can be in front of goal and Leeds United clearly needed to bring in a suitable replacement for Roofe.
For Arsenal, it will be a fantastic chance for their young talent to work under the legendary management of Marcelo Bielsa.
Hopefully, this agreement can go on to prove a fruitful one for both clubs involved.
