Eddie Nketiah has told Leeds United’s official website that the support on Wednesday night against Brentford helped the Whites get over the line and earn all three points.
Nketiah, 20, joined Leeds on deadline day on a season-long loan from Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and made his debut for the club in a Carabao Cup clash against Salford City away from home earlier this month.
The England Under-21 international scored on his debut against the League Two side. A goal for the Under-23 side on Monday against Millwall continued his goalscoring touch, and it was Nketiah again who won all three points against Brentford.
Helder Costa’s superb assist saw Nketiah tap the ball home to win 1-0, and Nketiah delivered huge praise on the Leeds support after his first appearance at Elland Road – claiming the noise of the crowd gives the players extra energy.

“The atmosphere was really good, as soon as you walk out of the tunnel you can hear the fans shouting and screaming, I think it’s really good for the players, it urges us on especially when we need a goal and it gives us that extra energy,” Nketiah said.
TBR’s view – Should Nketiah start against Stoke for Leeds?
Nketiah has done well when given the chance, but it must be remembered that he is still learning the way of Marcelo Bielsa. Indeed, Nketiah has only been at Leeds for two weeks.
His speed, goalscoring instinct and raw ability is certainly giving Bielsa a headache ahead of Saturday’s clash against Stoke, but knowing Bielsa’s faith in his players, it is more than likely that Patrick Bamford will continue up front.
