Eddie Nketiah delivers 10-word Instagram verdict as reported Arsenal target makes £34m move
Eddie Nketiah has reacted on Instagram after Tammy Abraham completed a surprise move to Roma from Chelsea, for a fee of £34million. Jose Mourinho has paid the big bucks to land the England star from old club Chelsea. Arsenal were eyeing Abraham – and Nketiah has posted on Instagram.
Abraham, 23, joins Roma after Chelsea completed the return of Romelu Lukaku for a fee that is likely to exceed £100million. Chelsea have also waved goodbye to Olivier Giroud – the Frenchman joining Milan. But Chelsea do also boast Timo Werner and Kai Haverts.
It saw Abraham opt to leave, after just 18 starts in all competitions last season. His game time reduced even further when Thomas Tuchel came in for Frank Lampard. This season, he has been an unused substitute in the Super Cup, and against Palace. He sent a message to Chelsea fans online.
What has Nketiah said to Abraham, amid Arsenal reports?
Before a move to Roma ever looked like a possibility, Arsenal were looking at the former Villa and Swansea loanee. A report from Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that Arsenal even agreed personal terms with Abraham, and that Mikel Arteta spoke to Abraham on the phone.
Nketiah is in the final year of his contract and if Arsenal had brought in Abraham – his future would have been in even more doubt. Instead, Nketiah posted a touching 10-word message to Abraham, following his move to Roma – instead of Arsenal.
