'50 or 60 times this season': Eddie Nketiah says he did something against Leeds that never works
Arsenal striker, Eddie Nketiah, is a man in form at the moment but even he admitted he got a bit lucky with one of his goals against Leeds this weekend.
Nketiah struck a double at The Emirates which proved to be enough for Arsenal to take all three points against a determined enough Leeds side. Of the two, his first goal was the nightmare for Leeds, as Illan Meslier was robbed of possession by the striker, who then duly tucked in.
However, rather than revel in the glory of the goal, Nketiah has admitted that the closing down of goalkeepers is not something he gets much joy from, and that he is simply following Mikel Arteta’s instructions and hoping for the best.

“But that’s what I do. I try to push, you know the manager encourages us to play a high press and it’s nice when you get a reward like that today.”
As yet, there is no sign of a new contract for Nketiah at Arsenal. However, there is growing belief that the Gunners will at least present him with one, such has been his form recently.
TBR’s View: Nketiah Getting The Rewards For Arsenal Right Now
Sometimes, a bit of patience is needed and Eddie Nketiah hasn’t half showed that with Arsenal this season.
Now, though, he’s getting the rewards and his hard work is paying off. As he says, the closing down of goalkeepers doesn’t always come off. However, it did this weekend and it must have been so satisfying to see happen.
Nketiah now needs to keep kicking on and impress in the final few games. If he can score and help Arsenal win against Spurs this week, then his stock will be higher than ever, and could force the club’s hand.
