Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is a big fan of Chelsea and United States of America winger Christian Pulisic.
Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that the Magpies are trying to sign the former Borussia Dortmund wideman this summer.
Howe and Newcastle have been looking to add some more pace and goal threat out wide throughout the transfer window.
They have not managed it yet but they may be able to get Pulisic through the door given his lack of gametime at Chelsea right now.

Eddie Howe is a big fan of Pulisic
Romano said: “Amanda Staveley was at Stamford Bridge to watch the Tottenham game at the weekend, and I can confirm the rumours linking Newcastle with an interest in Conor Gallagher, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Armando Broja.
“Newcastle would love to negotiate with Chelsea for those players, and also Christian Pulisic, who is liked by Eddie Howe.
“Chelsea have not yet decided how to manage Gallagher’s future. He was outstanding on loan at Crystal Palace last season and now he wants to stay at Chelsea, but it will be up to Thomas Tuchel.
“Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi will go on loan but is not convinced by Southampton’s proposal.”
It might seem obvious that the manager of a club is a fan of the player his board is trying to sign, but modern recruitment strategies mean this is not always the case.
Sometimes there are ‘club’ signings and others are driven by the manager but it seems everyone at Newcastle is aligned on this one.
Another man who is a fan of Pulisic is Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola, who has hailed Pulisic as an ‘exceptional‘ player, in April 2021.
