Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has been putting his players through their paces in training ahead of their return to Premier League action.

The Magpies head to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday for a 4:30pm kickoff.

Newcastle have done superbly over the past few weeks to drag themselves out of relegation trouble.

The Magpies currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, nine points clear of the bottom three.

However, Newcastle did lose their last two league games, so they’ll be hoping to get back on track.

They’re up against tough opposition in Tottenham, who have won their last two league games and four of their last five.

On Thursday, the Newcastle media team published photos of their players at Darsley Park.

Among the first-teamers was Magpies academy star Isaac Westendorf.

The 20-year-old striker joined Newcastle in January following a successful trial at the club.

He has hit the ground running for the Magpies Under-23s, with two goals and an assist from five Premier League 2 games.

Prior to joining Newcastle, Westendorf played for Barking FC in the Isthmian North Division.

In October last year, Barking & Dagenham Post reporter Jacob Ranson spoke to Chronicle Live about the forward.

“Isaac is fast, powerful and was extremely impressive for Barking,” he said.

“Often youngsters, despite how good they are, struggle to adapt to men’s football initially.

“But not Isaac, as he got himself into the first-team and found the back of the net consistently.”

Westendorf is yet to make his first-team debut but surely it won’t be long before he starts getting senior minutes.
