Eddie Gray is a huge admirer of Leeds United defender Ben White and has noticed a “tough streak” in his game too that makes him formidable.
The centre-back has played every minute in the Championship so far this season and developed into a key player for Marcelo Bielsa’s outfit.
He moved to Elland Road in the summer on a season-long loan from Brighton and he looks destined to be back in the Premier League next season based off his tremendous performances.
The 22-year-old is part of a Whites backline that has conceded the least amount of goals in the Championship so far and they currently sit third in the league table.
Leeds legend Gray is tipping loanee White to play at the top level and has hailed his impact on the defence.
“The young centre-back Ben White has been tremendous I think, he looks as if he could be a top player,” Gray told LUTV.
“Composed on the ball, quick, and he’s got a tough streak about him that’s what I like the core defenders.”
White certainly isn’t aggressive in nature, but extremely authoritative and decisive when it comes to his defending.
He reads the game so well that has seen him look a class above at times in the Championship and the powerhouse hasn’t had any difficult dealing with the physical side of the game.
The centre-back can play Marcelo Bielsa’s possession-based style given his composure on the ball and he’s got a long-range pass in the locker that fans often get to see.
His loan spell is certainly benefiting Leeds right now given his role in the side, but it would surely take a fortune to get him on a permanent basis.
