This week saw England’s under-20s take on Italy and the Czech Republic. They defeated the Italians before picking up a draw with the Czech Republic later in the week. It was a decent display in both games and for some players the chance to play some regular football.
Indeed, that was the case for Aston Villa talent Easah Suliman. The 20-year-old has been a regular with the England youth teams from the age of 15 and that is no different with Paul Simpson’s men.
Suliman played the full 90 minutes in both fixtures and Aston Villa fans will be pleased to hear he excelled in both games.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about his season so far.
Suliman was once again passed over for a potential Aston Villa first-team chance this season, despite their struggles at the back. However, he had obviously impressed enough on international duty to gain interest from the Netherlands. He was signed on loan by FC Emmen, who had recently won promotion to the Eredivisie for the first time in their history.
Suliman, however, is not getting the playing time he would have wanted. He has featured in no Eredivisie games for the club so far this season. He featured in a KNVB Cup match but his other appearances have been with the under-21s.
The youngster does have hope though. A ball-playing, technically gifted defender, he might be just what new Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is looking for in the future.
