Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Japanese Football Association announced that Takumi Minamino had suffered an injury.
What’s the story?
Well, the Japan FA announced earlier today that the £75,000-a-week forward had withdrawn from the squad after picking up a knock.
The Liverpool Echo believe Minamino’s injury isn’t serious.
However, it comes at a bad time for Jürgen Klopp, as Roberto Firmino was withdrawn against Chelsea due to an injury.
The 26-year-old is yet to feature for the Reds this season, having been named on the bench for all three Premier League games.
Perhaps that is why he suffered an injury with Japan, as he doesn’t have any match fitness.
Is history repeating itself for Liverpool after Takumi Minamino’s injury?

Last season, the Reds left themselves short of depth in the centre-back department, and were made to pay for it almost immediately.
In just the fifth Premier League game of the season, Virgil van Dijk suffered his serious knee injury, while Joe Gomez Joël Matip also suffered issues.
Now, after only three games, Klopp finds himself without Firmino and Minamino after failing to strengthen his attack in the transfer window.
By the sounds of it, neither injuries are serious, although it’s still worrying to see them pick up problems so early into the season.

Should Klopp lose Firmino and Minamino for a substantial amount of time, only Divock Origi will be able to offer backup to Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah.
For a side hoping to win their Premier League title back, that simply isn’t good enough.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Minamino’s injury…
