Arsenal predicted starting XI v Brentford… ‘world-class’ star drops to bench as £21m talent comes in

Arsenal extended their winning run in the Premier League with an emphatic 6-0 thrashing of Sheffield United on Monday night.

The Gunners have now made it seven league wins in a row and also broke an English record by scoring five or more in three consecutive away top-flight matches.

This weekend, Arsenal will hope to make it eight consecutive league wins when they host Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

There will be one enforced change for the Gunners as goalkeeper David Raya, on loan from the Bees, is ineligible to face his parent club.

Aaron Ramsdale is therefore all-but guaranteed to replace the Spaniard in between the sticks for a rare opportunity to give Mikel Arteta food for thought.

There are a few doubts for Arsenal, with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli having come off early on Monday night.

Saka came off at the break due to illness, while Martinelli was replaced in the second-half due to a cut on his foot.

However, Arteta told football.london he feels “pretty positive” both attacking talents will be alright by the time Saturday comes round.

Two predicted changes for Arsenal as Brentford come to town

Arsenal have a quick turnaround in games, and Tuesday night’s match is a big one. The Gunners host Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League and must overturn a 1-0 first-leg lead.

At the same time, Arsenal are in fine form and Arteta won’t want to make too many chances, as the Brentford game is also crucial for the Gunners’ title hopes.

With that in mind, we predict that Jorginho will be rested against the Bees, with Kai Havertz moving into midfield and Leandro Trossard summoned to lead the line.

The “world-class” Italian midfielder could be kept fresh to then take to the starting XI against Porto, with the versatile Havertz now in a great run of form and firing on all cylinders.

Trossard has stepped up when called upon, getting 10 goals and two assists this season. The £21million man is a reliable player and will fancy his chances of troubling the Bees defence.
