Dusan Vlahovic ranked as better player than Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

ESPN released their 50 best players at the World Cup list today and reported Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic has been ranked higher than Bukayo Saka.

Both Saka and Vlahovic are set to start in their country’s first game in Qatar next week. There is a lot of hype behind England, while Serbia could well be the surprise package at the World Cup this year.

Saka is an unbelievable footballer.

The 21-year-old has been fantastic for club and country for over two years now, and if he has a good tournament, England have every chance to achieve something special.

Mikel Arteta knows how good Saka is and how playing alongside a prolific goalscorer would make him even better. That’s probably why the Gunners tried extremely hard to sign Vlahovic in January this year.

The Serbian, however, snubbed the Gunners and decided to go and join Juventus for £67 million (Metro) instead.

Now, the Serbian has been ranked as the 40th best player at the World Cup – eight places better than Arsenal and England star Saka.

That is a bit of a surprise as the Juventus man has had a rocky start to life in Turin.

Arsenal still want the Serbian

After Vlahovic snubbed Arsenal in January and the Gunners went and signed Gabriel Jesus before the start of this season, everyone felt that Arteta had found the number nine he wanted.

However, a report from Italy disagrees.

Calciomercato revealed at the end of September that Arsenal are still interested in signing Vlahovic. It has been claimed that the 22-year-old is viewed as the man who would ‘complete’ an already strong department in Arteta’s side.

However, it’s extremely unlikely that the Gunners will splash so much cash on a new centre-forward again, just a few months after they forked out £45 million (Sky Sports) to sign their current number nine.
