Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Andy King – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have given up on a potential swoop for him.
The Leicester Mercury reports that Steven Gerrard’s team have started discussions about a potential loan deal.
The report explains that the 30-year-old is due to travel to Scotland on Thursday for further talks about a switch to Ibrox.
King is currently Leicester’s longest-serving player in the squad and he’s played 375 senior games for them, scoring 61 goals in return.
The central midfielder played an important role during the club’s rise from League One to Premier League winners and is considered a club legend at the King Power Stadium.
He’s seen his game time lessen in the last couple of years, which has seen him go out on loan to Swansea City and Derby County.
The Welshman has had some poor luck with injuries, but on his day is a midfielder with a great work-rate and a knack of arriving at the right time in attacking areas.
A selection of Rangers supporters on social media are open to the idea of signing former Premier League title-winner King on loan.
There is already a number of midfield options at the disposal of manager Steven Gerrard, but could be about to add someone with great experience to his group.
Here are some Rangers fans on King
Andy King walks into that squad ahead of Davis/Kamara. Better player IMO. Just an opinion but the all round positive is we are getting a really decent player. Proven international, played at the highest level. Premier league winner too so will have that winning mentality needed.

Wouldn’t say better than Davis but an excellent addition to the squad and a winner. We mean business this season.

Not an exciting name but one who would come in and bring mental strength and calmness to our team and dressing room – squad is littered with potential but aside from McGregor, Tav, CG, Jack, Davis, Arfield and Defoe we lack leadership

Andy King improves the squad. Why are we worried who misses out? A bizarre time for sentiment.
Not our job to question the amount of players we have. That’s why we have a management. If he’s better, get him in.

If he’s injury free then it’s a decent signing
We’ll need enough players to win all 4 competitions this season ??

Cracking signing if true.

Premier league winner. Can’t surely do anything other than improve the squad.
