Rangers fans pleased by with reported interest in Leicester midfielder Andy King

Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Andy King – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have given up on a potential swoop for him.

The Leicester Mercury reports that Steven Gerrard’s team have started discussions about a potential loan deal.

The report explains that the 30-year-old is due to travel to Scotland on Thursday for further talks about a switch to Ibrox.

King is currently Leicester’s longest-serving player in the squad and he’s played 375 senior games for them, scoring 61 goals in return.

The central midfielder played an important role during the club’s rise from League One to Premier League winners and is considered a club legend at the King Power Stadium.

He’s seen his game time lessen in the last couple of years, which has seen him go out on loan to Swansea City and Derby County.

The Welshman has had some poor luck with injuries, but on his day is a midfielder with a great work-rate and a knack of arriving at the right time in attacking areas.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media are open to the idea of signing former Premier League title-winner King on loan.

There is already a number of midfield options at the disposal of manager Steven Gerrard, but could be about to add someone with great experience to his group.
