Douglas Luiz has told Villa TV that he felt a little embarrassed by Aston Villa’s results against Leeds United and Southampton.
Villa went into the two games having made a flawless start to the season. The Villans won their opening four games – with the most notable win coming when they stunned Liverpool 7-2.

However, their unbeaten run was ended by Leeds last month. A second-half hat-trick from Patrick Bamford saw the Whites leave Villa Park with a 3-0 win.
And it appeared that they were on the verge of an even heavier defeat in their next game. The Saints were 4-0 up inside an hour. Villa staged a late fightback, but they were unable to find an equaliser.

And Luiz admitted that the two losses were tough to take as they felt that they should have taken points from those games.
“As I said, I’m not satisfied and a little embarrassed because they were two home games against opponents that we know we can take points from. We could have taken three points or maybe one point,” he told Villa TV.
“The key to this league is to get points on the board. So I feel a bit embarrassed having not been able to get any points.”
Dean Smith will be hoping that the two defeats motivate Villa to step their game up once again. They were undone by some brilliance in both games. And there were some positives to reflect upon.
But with Arsenal ahead this weekend, it may not be easy for Villa to immediately get back on track.
