Allan Saint-Maximin has provided Newcastle United with a huge injury boost in a hilarious video posted on Twitter, while captain Jamaal Lascelles has also confirmed he is on the mend – just moments after the 4-1 win over Rochdale.
Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, Matty Longstaff and an own goal from Rochdale defender Eoghan O’Connell saw Newcastle ease to a comfortable FA Cup win over their League One competitors – cancelling out Jordan Williams’ consolation.
It sees Newcastle progress into the fourth round of the Cup where they will face another third-tier side in Oxford United at home. That is despite an extensive injury list that has seen Steve Bruce tasked with chopping and changing to find his best side.
Already a fan favourite, Saint-Maximin was not a part of the squad but moments after the 4-1 win, he reassured fans with a hilarious video – claiming it no longer hurts to dance after overcoming a hamstring injury suffered against Sheffield United.

The extensive list of injuries has hit Bruce and Newcastle hard in recent matches, losing to Everton, Manchester United and Leicester in quick succession over the Christmas period. But a draw against Wolves and Tuesday’s result are encouraging.
Captain Lascelles managed just under an hour against Rochdale after starting his first match since early November, after returning from a knee injury. He responded to Saint-Maximin’s Tweet, saying he feels the “same”.
I feel the same! Just can’t dance like that 🔥
