‘Don’t need Haaland’, ‘gonna be a baller’: Some Liverpool fans hail 19-year-old’s U23s display today
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to praise Jake Cain’s efforts for the Reds Under-23s today.
The 19-year-old came through the ranks at Anfield and has been superb at U23s level this season, with seven goals and six assists from just 15 appearances.
Cain helped Barry Lewtas’ side register a superb 4-0 win over Arsenal’s U23s today, scoring a brace and claiming an assist against a side which featured Gunners first-teamer Reiss Nelson.

Liverpool made the most of opposition errors at the back to establish a two-goal lead by half time, with Layton Stewart netting on 14 minutes and Cain scoring in the 45th.
The Reds midfielder then grabbed his second of the game shortly after the restart, picking up the ball from Ben Woodburn’s pass and rifling past Tom Smith.
Liverpool wrapped up a great day’s work in the 68th minute as Cain fed Woodburn for his first goal since returning to Merseyside from his loan stint at Blackpool.
And plenty of Reds fans were eager to sing Cain’s praises following the game, tipping him for a first-team breakthrough and future success:
