Toby Alderweireld was recalled by Tottenham Hotspur in yesterday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City.

And the Belgium international helped his side keep a clean sheet and claim a 2-0 victory.

With Alderweireld back in the defence, Spurs looked solid and it was an assured display from the centre-half.

The 29-year-old partnered Jan Vertonghen at the back to stake a claim to play more often.

With a massive game coming up in midweek against Barcelona, Mauricio Pochettino has definitely been given a selection dilemma with Alderweireld’s impressive showing.

But Alderweireld’s future at Tottenham is far from secure, with The London Evening Standard among the media outlets reporting that Manchester United could make a January move.

With Alderweireld’s contract situation up in the air, he could leave Spurs in the upcoming transfer window.

But Spurs fans took to social media after the game to congratulate Alderweireld for the clean sheet and to urge him to stay.
