'Done deal and here we go': Fabrizio Romano has some breaking news for Tottenham fans
Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
The Spurs playmaker has been out of favour at N17 for a while now.
Indeed, Lo Celso is one of four players reportedly training away from the Tottenham first team at present.
The Argentina international spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal, where he excelled.
Villarreal CEO Roig Negueroles said earlier this summer that his club wasn’t in a position to move for the Tottenham man permanently.
But now, the Yellow Submarines have reportedly got their man once again on loan.
Romano took to Twitter to declare Lo Celso’s Tottenham exit a “done deal and here we go”.
He claimed Villarreal had sealed a full agreement with Spurs over a straight loan to Unai Emery’s side.
In addition, Tottenham reportedly have a break clause they can exercise in January if a club makes a permanent bid for Lo Celso.
Tottenham signed Lo Celso on loan in the summer of 2019 before buying him outright the next year.
However, his career at Spurs has never really got going amid injury and form issues.
The suspension of English football due to covid likely played a part in the player’s struggles to settle too.
Lo Celso is a very talented player who’ll no doubt thrive at Villarreal once again.
Then in January, a permanent transfer solution can potentially be found for the 26-year-old.
