Don Hutchison has urged Liverpool to sign Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho before Thursday’s 5pm deadline after reported talks over a move to Tottenham Hotspur came to an abrupt halt.
Barcelona are reportedly willing to offload the 55-time Brazil international after he struggled during 2018-19. Indeed, the former Inter Milan star scored just five goals in 55 league and cup appearances.
The 27-year-old playmaker has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham despite having four years left on his contract at the Nou Camp. But Sky Sports reported on Thursday that Spurs had been rejected by Coutinho.
It is believed that Coutinho would only consider a return to England if Liverpool were interested in his services – just 18 months after he left the Champions League winners. Hutchison has urged Liverpool to re-sign him.
Absolute no brainer for Liverpool to take Coutinho back on loan!!!!! Bad move for there title hopes if Liverpool don’t make that happen!!! #NeedMoreDepth

Any deal for Coutinho is likely to be a loan if the Brazilian does leave Barcelona before the end of the transfer window. Interested English clubs will have to move before Thursday’s 5pm deadline.
However, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have been linked but they have until September 2 to sign players and that gives those clubs a massive advantage in the race for Coutinho’s signature.
