Cody Gakpo looked sharper than ever during this training session as Liverpool put out numerous clips where the Dutchman starred.

Gakpo was moving well and finishing brilliantly, and after scoring in one of the finishing drills, he even earned a round of applause from Dominik Szoboszlai.

Szoboszlai was clearly impressed by Gakpo’s finishing in training, and he could have a key role to play for Liverpool next season as the Reds push to retain their Premier League title.

Cody Gakpo could be more important than ever at Liverpool

Cody Gakpo has been shining in training, and that bodes very well for Liverpool ahead of next season.

Gakpo earned a lot of praise last year, and he may have to step up again in this coming campaign.

Luis Diaz could be set to leave Liverpool, and that will leave the Reds rather short down the left wing it has to be said.

Gakpo will likely be asked to fill that slot on a weekly basis if Diaz is to leave, and he’ll need to be at his very best if he’s to help the Reds to the title.

Liverpool’s attack should receive tons of service next season after the arrival of Florian Wirtz as a new creative option, and Gakpo should hopefully thrive on that extra creativity that has been added to the squad.
