Tottenham Hotspur have certainly endured an up and down season so far with a lot of positives to take but some concerns also evident.

Ange Postecoglou’s side face a huge challenge in the Europa League on Thursday night when they face Galatasaray.

After a perfect start in their opening three Europa League games, Tottenham have set their stall out early in the competition.

Jose Mourinho has tipped Tottenham to lift the Europa League trophy at the end of the season following their impressive start.

With the Lilywhites already nine points behind the Premier League leaders, it would seem their hopes of winning the title is already out of the picture.

Ange Postecoglou is relaying trophy message at Tottenham

Speaking to Sky Sports, Tottenham’s summer signing Dominic Solanke has provided an insight on the message which Postecoglou is constantly trying to get through to his players.

The England international has been in fine form since landing in north London with Brennan Johnson hailing Solanke’s worth rate which he thinks is going unnoticed.

But trophies are on the mind of the £65m striker and he’s admitted his manager is constantly reminding the team of just that.

“Massive, I think it’s what everyone’s been been waiting for here,” said Solanke.

“The gaffer’s big on it as well, he’s a winner himself, and he reiterates that to us all the time. And yeah I think we’ve got the squad to do it, everyone believes we can so it’s just about doing it now.”

The Englishman’s form will certainly be a real positive for the Spurs fans with Solanke equaling Rafael van der Vaart’s Tottenham record of four goals in his first 10 games.

And Tottenham are going to need Solanke to be at his best if they are going to end their trophy drought this season.

Solanke has Harry Kane’s approval at Tottenham

Arriving at Tottenham as the new striker weighs a lot of pressure now following what Harry Kane was able to do in a Spurs shirt.

Considering Solanke has missed some games already through injury, the striker is showing promising signs of being a reliable successor to their highest-ever goalscorer.

Having played against each other in the Premier League and even alongside one another in the England squad, Kane has shared his praise on Solanke.

“For sure he is going to get chances in this team, the way Ange [Postecoglou] plays and you saw that again with two top teams going toe-to-toe,” Kane told the PA.

“Yeah, I think it is a really good signing. I saw him in the dressing room there and wished him all the best. I hope he has a great season.”
