Dominic Solanke gets to play with a lot of very talented players at Tottenham.

Indeed, Solanke is lucky enough to call the likes of Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Micky van de Ven his teammates at Spurs.

However, Solanke missed the chance to play alongside one of the most talented players of his generation – Harry Kane.

Solanke has arrived at Tottenham 12 months on from Kane’s move to Bayern Munich, but, he has worked with Kane before at international level.

Solanke has one England cap to his name, and while his time with Kane was brief, he did make a serious impression as Solanke named Kane as the best finisher he has ever worked with.

Dominic Solanke praises Harry Kane

Solanke spoke highly of the England captain.

“Who is the best finisher you have ever played with?” Solanke was asked.

“Obviously Harry Kane. His finishing is just one of the best ever. We see that all the time, and his finishing is just incredible,” Solanke said.

Dominic Solanke has big shoes to fill

Solanke has been signed as Spurs’ Kane replacement, and it appears he’s well aware of the shoes he has to fill.

Solanke is replacing the greatest striker this football club has ever seen, and he’ll need to do something special if he’s going to achieve his goal of adequately replacing Kane.

His goal record for Bournemouth last season suggests that Solanke has what it takes, but we’ve seen numerous strikers fail to make this step up when joining a bigger club.

Of course, Spurs fans will be hoping that Solanke can make this step and become a star for Tottenham, but there’s a serious amount of pressure attached to replacing a player like Kane.

It’s early days for Solanke at Tottenham, but he’ll want to get off the mark soon if he’s going to have a successful season at Spurs.
