Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has raved about the quality of Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.

Calvert-Lewin, who has played alongside Grealish for England’s national side, has given a glowing verdict about his Premier League rival.

Grealish is currently sidelined through injury, but is the talisman at Villa Park.

The 25-year-old attacker appears to have taken his game up another level for Dean Smith’s side, and is thriving in a left-winger role.

He’s scored seven goals and supplied 12 assists in just 23 games across all competitions this season for Villa.

“He’s a naturally gifted footballer. For me, he’s a joy to watch. If I could watch any player play, it would probably be him because he can do everything, and he’s exciting, and he tries to make things happening,” Calvert-Lewin told the Super 6 Podcast.

TBR’s View:

If Grealish is fit for England during this summer’s European Championships, then surely he’s got to be in with a good chance of starting.

There are so many attacking talents available to England boss Gareth Southgate, but the Villa man is unique.

He’s got that X-factor that puts fears into defenders, so there is a huge wave of England supporters demanding he becomes a permanent starter for the national side.

Calvert-Lewin will get an opportunity during the current international break to work with another Villa star, Ollie Watkins, who is a fellow centre-forward.

Calvert-Lewin has the role of understudy to England captain Harry Kane right now at striker, but it’ll be interesting to see how the Villa star measures up.
