Leeds United returned to the top half of the Premier League table with an excellent 3-0 win over Southampton at Elland Road on Tuesday night – and both Dominic Matteo and Raphinha have responded on Instagram to Raphinha’s performance.
Raphinha, 24, has been a marvel for Leeds since joining the club for £17million from French club Rennes. Since that move, he has had a hand in 10 Premier League goals and supporters are of the opinion that they have pulled off a major coup.
The Brazilian was on hand to remind fans that he is up there with the best signings in the Premier League, as the Whites produced a stunning second-half performance to down Ralph Hasenhuttl’s injury-savaged side.
With the score 0-0 at the break, Patrick Bamford netted his 13th of the season just after the restart. Stuart Dallas made it two before Raphinha curled a brilliant effort into the net from all of 25 yards – and he posted on Instagram afterwards.
His message, which of course saw Raphinha booked, was a heartfelt one. Brazil legend Ronaldinho’s Mother died earlier this week and Raphinha paid tribute – as did the entire squad after the passing of Granny Val, the Grandmother of Kalvin Phillips.
Leeds icon Matteo responded to Raphinha’s performance and free-kick by posting on his story, labelling him an “absolute baller”. Ex-Chelsea and Barcelona ace Deco, Raphinha’s agent, also reacted – commenting on his Instagram.
His message is translated as : “You are great at everything”.
