Everton have picked up just point from their last three Premier League fixtures after initially winning their first four and striker Dom Calvert-Lewin has taken to Instagram to apologise to supporters – after defeats to Southampton and Newcastle.
The new England international has been on fire for Everton. He has scored eight goals in seven Premier League fixtures, helping Everton win their first four league games over Spurs, West Brom, Palace and Brighton.
The Toffees continued their excellent start to the Premier League campaign with a 2-2 draw against Merseyside rivals Liverpool, but since that fixture, they have lost to Southampton and then to Newcastle over the weekend.
Calvert-Lewin took his tally to 11 in all competitions on Sunday as Callum Wilson’s brace saw Newcastle win 2-1 – meaning Everton slipped to fourth place in the Premier League table. Calvert-Lewin is not impressed, though, and apologised to fans.

TBR’s view – Where can Calvert-Lewin and Everton finish?
Sitting in fourth, Everton and Carlo Ancelotti will need to target and finish in the European places if they are to have any chance of being deemed successful this season. But what will worry Ancelotti is how Everton struggle without their best players.
James Rodriguez and Richarlison have been sidelined of late and without them on Sunday, they lacked creativity. Calvert-Lewin was left somewhat isolated. If fit, they can push the top four – but without them, the top six could be a struggle.
Calvert-Lewin, though, has become established and if Everton keep the £80m-rated (Sun) striker, they have a chance.
