Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs remain keen on landing the 23-year-old and will have to fight off Crystal Palace for his signature.

The report details that Championship outfit Villa expect to lose the attacking midfielder if they fail to secure promotion and would want around £35million for him.

The North London club have a £60million budget ahead of the summer, while they will also have any cash they generate from sales to invest back in the squad (Daily Mail).

Grealish is a Villa academy product that has come through the first team with them and is now arguably their best player at the club.

He’s had his injury problems to deal with this season, but has still managed six goals and six assists in 31 games across all competitions.

His return from injury in March has coincided with 10 victories on the bounce to help Villa into the play-offs and he looks a step above the Championship.

Spurs should really want a ready-made product if they are to splash out £35million and it could take him some time to readjust back to the top flight.

But he has all the credentials of a Pochettino signing and has so much potential to fulfil if he joins an elite club.

Grealish would be an excellent creative option to add to the midfield and it would surely bring him into contention for a senior England call-up.
