Does Everton striker Cenk Tosun deserve another start?

Everton boss Marco Silva handed Cenk Tosun the opportunity to stake his claim for a starting position at the beginning of the season, but the centre-forward blew his chance.

The Turkey international failed to score in the opening five Premier League matches after starting them, which saw the manager drop him to the bench for the three recent fixtures.

He did come off the bench to great effect to score in a win over Fulham, but a disappointing outing in the EFL Cup against Southampton highlighted that he may not be ready for a main role yet.

Tosun made a £27million (Sky Sports) move to Goodison Park in January and is yet to really set the world alight for them.

The centre-forward has scored six goals in 24 goals across all competitions for the Merseyside club, but it looks like he’s got plenty more to do if he wants to break into the current XI.

Tosun is going to have to be patient in the upcoming weeks and try make a maximum impact when he features as a substitute.

Teammate Richarlison has certainly moved ahead of him in the pecking order and looks like getting an extended run in the central attacking position.
