Tottenham Hotspur have constantly been linked with a move for RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer as the Austrian ace continues to shine in the middle of the park for Julian Nagelsmann’s side – and Spurs may have a trump card to finally nab him.
Sabitzer, 26, was one of the best-performing central midfielders in European football last season – having a hand in 27 goals in 44 league and cup appearances. This season, he has struggled to recapture that form consistently, scoring three in 13.
The 44-time Austria international is about to enter the final 18 months of his Leipzig contract, and Tottenham continue to be linked. Football London claimed just this month that Sabitzer remains on Tottenham’s radar.
Plenty of clubs are likely to be interested and it is hardly likely that he will remain at Leipzig until the end of his contract. Leipzig will be forced to sell, but it may be that they only sell to a team that can help benefit the Bundesliga team.

Tottenham might be best-placed. That is because a report from 90Min claims that Leipzig are taking a look at Dele Alli with Daniel Levy willing to sanction a loan for the England ace, for as long as 18 months in January.
Leipzig are about to sign Dominik Szoboszlai from RedBull Salzburg but it is believed that they have taken a look at Alli with Nagelsmann clearly an admirer. So, could Spurs use that to their advantage – with Alli seemingly edging closer to the exit door?
With numerous sides likely to want Sabitzer as soon as January, Spurs could tempt Leipzig into convincing Sabitzer to move to north London by including an 18-month Alli loan as a sweetener in the deal.
Certainly, the arrival of Sabitzer at Tottenham would only push Alli further down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho. Spurs may finally have the trump card required to sign Sabitzer, in the form of £100k-a-week (Spotrac) Alli.
