Andros Townsend
Andros Townsend was signed in January from Tottenham Hotspur for £12 million and has so far contributed just one goal for his new team, in a 5-1 loss to Chelsea. For Newcastle to stand a chance of retaining their place in the Premier League next season, they need their £12 million pound man to deliver on the pitch for his new side.
Getting Townsend back on the pitch and playing would be a good start for Newcastle as he’s missed the last two games for Newcastle with a hamstring injury that he sustained in a training session following the defeat against Chelsea.
Steve McClaren spoke about Townsend’s injury before the away match at Stoke and said he didn’t want to risk the England winger until he was 100% fit. He didn’t feature against Bournemouth either, so will Newcastle have Townsend back for a run out in the Leicester match before the crunch clash with Sunderland?
