Fabricio Coloccini
Club captain Fabricio Coloccini hasn’t featured in the past two games but is the first player that I believe Newcastle need back to help set the tone at the club for the remaining ten games. Coloccini has been involved in five clean sheets this season, which included a 2-0 win against Liverpool and a 0-0 draw against Manchester United.
Both of those clean sheets came at St James Park and for Newcastle to be in with a chance of survival this season they need to turn St James Park into fortress and not rolling over as easy as they did against Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth on the weekend.
Coloccini; like most centre-halves, isn’t the most prolific in front of goal but did pop up with an important goal against relegation rivals Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw. This was his first Premier League goal since November 2014 and his first at St James’ Park since January 2011 against Spurs. A few more goals from their Argentinean captain could spur the team on.
