Do these three Chelsea players still have something to offer Antonio Conte?

Nathaniel Chalobah

Nathaniel Chalobah is my personal favourite to see in a Chelsea shirt this coming season. Having watched him dominate at the back coming through the age groups, a number of loan spells in England and in Italy have slowly improved year on year, apart from his spell at Napoli last campaign that did not go to plan.

Still only 21 years of age, it seems as though Chalobah has been in and around the first team for years. Now a more dynamic, athletic central midfielder, the England under 21 international would be a perfect player to come into the squad, especially if Nemanja Matic leaves the club this summer as reported.

He has featured heavily in Conte’s first few pre-season friendlies, scoring a brilliant goal in the game against RZ Pellets as the Blues cruised to a 3-0 win.

It has frequently been seen that a string of strong pre-season displays as part of a tight-knit squad can really set a player up to have a superb campaign ahead. Were this the case for Chalobah, he could well cement himself in Chelsea’s first-team plans.
