Former England manager, Glenn Hoddle, was unimpressed with Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno during the Gunners’ loss to Wolves last night.
The goalkeeper made a momentous error of judgement to see red against Wolves. He rushed out to meet Adama Traore, only to punch the ball into touch from well outside the box leaving the officials with no option but to send him off.

It was a decision which proved costly, as the Gunners ended up losing 2-1 despite putting in a fine performance overall.
And Hoddle, speaking to BT Sport after the game, says Leno simply had to ‘do something’ other than what he did.
“He was in two minds and what was going through his mind I don’t think anyone will know. But he’s just got to play safe, he’s the last man, he always is as a goalie,” Hoddle said.
“Head it out, knock it out with your chest, do something. He’s got caught in two minds and it was disastrous for Arsenal because they should have wrapped the game up in the first half an hour.”

The result ensured Arsenal now sit eight points off the top four places. And with both Leno and Mat Ryan expected to miss the next game now, Alex Runarsson will have to step up to the plate for Mikel Arteta.
TBR View: A moment of madness from Leno, Hoddle is spot on
Goalkeepers sometimes do these weird and wonderful things but that from Leno was ridiculous.
The fact he tried to disguise it made it even worse. He’s obviously made a split second decision and it’s ended up costing his team dearly both in the short and medium term.
Arsenal should have had the three points last night and with Leno on, a result was possible in some form. He’ll be regretting his action this morning no doubt and will hope to live and learn from the mistake.
