Do Leicester City deserve to win the Premier League for these reasons?

Leicester City are not a top four team

Leicester are not a stereotypical top four outfit – far from it. They were fighting for survival last season and now they lead the Premier League. The usual teams in the top four almost expect to finish in the Champions League qualification places every time without fail and rather than seeing it as a privilege, they see it as a right. Leicester can change all of this. They are demonstrating to young fans what football is all about and that sometimes the seemingly impossible can become a reality. The Foxes haven’t won it yet, but the team at the top of the league in February in the last 11 seasons has gone on to win the coveted prize, so why should this season be any different? Some Arsenal fans seem to think that their team is somehow entitled to win the league this year, mainly as a result of their stability compared to their rivals. After their performance against Southampton on Tuesday, I don’t even see their finish in the top four as a certainty. Leicester on the other hand deserve to win the league. It would be arguably the greatest achievement in Premier League history if they did.

It would be absolutely brilliant if Leicester could outfox the top four and win the Premier League. Leicester fans and neutrals everywhere are hoping it happens and so am I. Why would an Arsenal fan want Leicester to win the title you may ask? For the simple reason that it’s time for a change. To be honest, like many others, I am fed up of the same teams winning the league year after year. Above all else, I like and respect Leicester. They are not arrogant or self-entitled like so many other top flight sides. Instead, they are humble and determined and it would be very justifiable if they won the Premier League.
