Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy’s partnership

In the league, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have 31 goals between them so far this season. Vardy has got 18 of those and Mahrez; an attacking midfielder by trade, has the other 13. Their partnership is reminiscent of Sturridge and Suarez a few seasons ago when they very nearly won the league for Liverpool by themselves. The Leicester City duo simply just cannot stop scoring, and if they’re not hitting the back of the net themselves, they’re assisting. They also have 12 assists between them, nine for Mahrez and three for Vardy.

It is clear for all to see that they genuinely love playing together and care about each other. When Vardy was chasing Van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in ten consecutive Premier League games; a feat the former Fleetwood Town man did surpass, Leicester came up against Watford. Vardy didn’t look like scoring in that match but when his side got a penalty and the regular taker; Riyad Mahrez, gave the ball to Vardy, the forward duly converted the spot kick and gave Leicester a 2-0 lead. That is a partnership. Mahrez could have easily taken the penalty as usual but he knew about Jamie’s record and he wanted to help him achieve it.
