Djibril Cisse has told JOE’s All To Play For podcast that Phil Foden’s performance for Manchester City on Sunday evening was similar to the kind of quality Liverpool’s Mo Salah produced a couple of years ago.
Foden was electric on Sunday. The 20-year-old England international scored and created two of Manchester City’s four goals at Anfield, and was involved in another. His display was stunning, brushing aside Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League champions.
The playmaker has come in for enormous praise since his display on Merseyside – and now has stats of 16 goal involvements in 29 league and cup appearances. He is in line to start for England when the Three Lions begin their Euro 2021 campaign.
Ex-Liverpool striker Cisse was asked what he thought about Foden – and he gave a nine-word verdict, comparing him to Egyptian superstar Salah, but the form of the Liverpool attacker from two seasons ago when he was at his best.
