Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey has now shared on Twitter what the linesman said to him after Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez elbowed him.

Villa picked up an impressive win yesterday as they saw off Erik Ten Hag’s men in the Midlands.

It was Unai Emery’s first game in charge and it couldn’t have gone any better for the new boss after his side beat United 3-1.

The Villains came flying out the blocks and Bailey put them a goal ahead inside the first ten minutes of the game.

Lucas Digne scored a brilliant free-kick just four minutes later and Jacob Ramsey grabbed their third just after half-time after United had got themselves back in the game.

Bailey put in an impressive display but is not happy with the officials after an incident that happened around the hour mark.

Bailey shares what linesman told him

Martinez appeared to drive his elbow into Bailey’s stomach after seeing the ball out for a goal kick.

The elbow left Bailey on the floor but no further action was taken by VAR after reviewing the incident.

And the 25-year-old has now posted on Twitter and shared what the linesman told him after the incident.

Martinez was very fortunate not to be sent-off yesterday as it appeared to be a deliberate elbow from the Argentine.

The former Ajax man is known for his combative style of play but was treading on thin ice yesterday.

Bailey caused United’s defence serious problems yesterday and Martinez was clearly frustrated with his side’s performance.

Emery will be delighted to pick up such a big win in his first game at Villa Park. The two sides will face-off once again on Thursday evening in the League Cup as Emery’s men travel to Old Trafford.

It should be a fiery affair after yesterday’s game as Ten Hag’s men will be aiming to bounce back instantly.
