Dirk Kuyt has told Stadium Astro that Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Gini Wijnaldum would struggle in Spanish football if they swap Anfield for La Liga this summer – because they are perfectly suited to Liverpool’s style of play.
Both Wijnaldum and Salah featured in Liverpool’s excellent 3-0 away win over Arsenal on Saturday evening at The Emirates – with Salah netting his 26th goal of the season. But both are being linked with Spanish clubs Barcelona, or Real Madrid.
Wijnaldum is available on a free this summer and while Liverpool retain an interest in keeping the experiended Netherlands international, a contract is yet to be signed. Salah has also hinted at a move away, with the two Spanish giants said to be keen.
But Liverpool icon Kuyt has suggested that both Wijnaldum and Salah would struggle in Spain – as they would fail to find a club that suits them better than Liverpool. He believes the Reds are seeing the best of Salah and Wijnaldum, as the style is perfect.
