Rangers are seemingly interested in bringing Siriki Dembele to Ibrox in the future, with Barry Fry claiming that the Gers have watched the forward twice this season – in comments reported by the Peterborough Telegraph.
Dembele has been one of the standout performers in League One this term. He has scored five goals and contributed four assists for Peterborough United.

He is actually on a run of eight games without a goal. Nevertheless, it appears that Steven Gerrard is monitoring his development ahead of the coming windows.
Posh director of football Fry has claimed that both Rangers and Premier League side Newcastle have been to watch the 24-year-old. However, he also insisted that the club are in a strong position to hold onto Dembele.

“Rangers have watched Siriki twice as have the Scottish national side,” he said, as reported by the Peterborough Telegraph. “Newcastle manager Steve Bruce watched him at Crewe when he didn’t play well.
“There will always be interest in players like Siriki, but we don’t have to sell him. We have him for another 18 months and we’d rather he stayed until the summer when we can reassess his situation.”
It is interesting to see Rangers consider another attacker. Gerrard currently boasts a lethal group of forwards.
Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten have impressed following their summer arrivals. Meanwhile, Alfredo Morelos remains one of the most dangerous strikers in the division – even while he endures his own run without a goal.
And of course, 38-year-old Jermain Defoe appears to have the ability and hunger to continue playing for some years yet.
Having said that, Defoe is obviously well into the twilight of his career. And Morelos will probably be linked with a move away in every window until he finally leaves Ibrox.
So it is wise to have a look elsewhere. And Dembele – whose brother is on Celtic’s books – looks to be an incredibly exciting talent.
