Diop to partner Zouma, Vlasic to start: West Ham predicted lineup
Diop and Vlasic should start for West Ham.
West Ham take on NS Mura in Europa League action tonight and changes are expected.
Last time out David Moyes’ side won 2-1 at Elland Road and some of the key players from that result will play tonight.
In goal, we have Lukasz Fabiansksi dropping out for Alphonse Areola, who shone last week against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.
Along the West Ham back line there are some changes.
Owing to Vladimir Coufal and Ryan Fredericks’ injuries, Ben Johnson should come in at right-back.
At left-back we have Aaron Cresswell retaining his place.
Then in central defence the same pair that shone away at Dinamo Zagreb, Issa Diop and Kurt Zouma, should start.
Midfield is where things get interesting.
The Hammers play a 4-2-3-1 system under Moyes, and the two holders we expect to see here are Declan Rice and summer signing Alex Kral.
Diop and Vlasic should start for West Ham
Kral started at Old Trafford last week and enjoyed a solid debut which he now needs to build on.
Ahead of the pivot we have an attacking trio of Pablo Fornals, Nikola Vlasic and Jarrod Bowen to start.
Said Benrahma is in line for a rest, having started against Leeds.
Then, up front, it could only be Michail Antonio.
The Jamaican international is the man of the moment at the London Stadium.
He scored last time out against Leeds and in the Hammers Europa League opener in Croatia.
Moyes will be relying on Antonio to make the difference under the lights in Stratford, in front of a bouncing West Ham crowd.
A win would put the Irons well on their way to qualifying for the knockout stages and the fans are desperate for a long European tour.
