Diogo Dalot has suggested that a former Manchester United player is even better than Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland.
The Manchester derby is just one day away, and the excitement is building up. Pep Guardiola‘s side are the favourites, but you can’t write Manchester United off in a derby. It will be a very interesting watch, and Dalot has made a huge claim just before the big game.

Diogo Dalot picks Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney over Erling Haaland
Wayne Rooney is one of the greatest players to ever play for Manchester United.
The legendary Englishman scored 253 goals and provided 145 assists for the Red Devils during his 13-year stay at Old Trafford. He is an absolute legend of the club.
In his prime, Rooney was one of the best strikers in the world. You could even say he was the king of Manchester until he left United to rejoin Everton on a free transfer in 2017 (Daily Mail).
However, now, there is a new king in town, and his name is Erling Haaland. The Manchester City forward is among the best number nines we’ve ever seen, and he has the potential to go down as a great.
In a video on Goal yesterday, Diogo Dalot was asked to pick between Rooney and Haaland.
The Manchester United right-back, without any hesitation, picked Rooney, and we’re sure fans of the Old Trafford club would’ve absolutely loved that ahead of the derby tomorrow.
Wayne Rooney was incredible in his prime
Whether you like him or not, you just can’t deny the fact that Wayne Rooney is one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen.
The Englishman won five league titles, a Champions League, a Europa League, an FA Cup, four League Cups and four Community Shields during his time at Old Trafford.
In his prime, he was simply incredible, and even the best defenders in the world struggled to deal with him back in the day. He was unstoppable at times.
Erling Haaland could go on and break all the records Rooney has to name, but we’re sure Manchester United fans, like Dalot, will always pick the former England captain over him.
