Dimitar Berbatov says he could see £30m England star signing for Arsenal now

Arsenal are yet to sign a new striker despite 18 months’ worth of links to new centre-forwards.

The Gunners haven’t brought in a new centre-forward yet this summer, but there have been plenty of links to new strikers in this window.

Ivan Toney has been strongly linked with a move to the north London club, and speaking to Futbin, Dimitar Berbatov has been discussing this potential move.

The Bulgarian says that he could see Toney at Arsenal, claiming that he is a fan of the Brentford striker, believing that he is now ready for the next step in his career.

Dimitar Berbatov can see Ivan Toney at Arsenal

Berbatov shared his verdict on this potential move.

“Toney to Arsenal? Why not? I think he made the most of his playing time at the Euros and gave everything and the best that he could with such a limited amount of playing time,” Berbatov said.

The way he plays the game. The way he moves, scoring goals, taking penalties and taking responsibility means it’s time for the next step but which direction that is we will have to wait and see.”

Ivan Toney to Arsenal would be smart

Ivan Toney is apparently now available for £30m.

Say what you will about Toney as a player, but at £30m, that is a great deal.

This is a player who has proven he can hit 20 Premier League goals in a season, and he could take Arsenal to that next level.

The Gunners need a striker who has that killer instinct in front of goal, and there really isn’t a better player on the market for such a reasonable fee as Toney.

Arsenal still need a striker, and with Toney still available, they should be all over this deal.

As Berbatov says, this is a deal that is easy to see getting done before the end of the transfer window.
