Dimitar Berbatov has admitted he’s stunned by the brilliance Tottenham player Heung-Min Son and was speechless after his performance in the Champions League.
The dust is beginning to settle after Spurs booked their spot in the Champions League semi-final, where they will face Dutch giants Ajax.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side knocked out Manchester City 4-4 on aggregate with the away goal rule in midweek and they face them again on Saturday in the Premier League.
Son scored two vital away goals on Wednesday at Manchester City in a 4-3 loss on the night in the second leg and filled the void left by the injured talisman Harry Kane.
The 26-year-old attacker was ruthless in front of goal at the Etihad Stadium and continues to deliver this campaign.
Berbatov put tremendous praise on the centre-forward after he reached 20 goals across all competitions for the season.
“They are all heroes of course but one man who always steps us is Heung-Min Son and I don’t have the words to describe what he’s doing for Spurs at the moment,” Berbatov told Betfair.
“It’s all happening for him, he scores unbelievable goals and at the end of last night’s game was doing some pretty decent defending too!
Son has taken his game up another level in the last year and his display against Manchester City in Europe was proof of that.
He’s become such a clinical finisher around the penalty area and has the dynamism to frighten any defence.
The South Korea international also has 10 assists in his 42 games this season to highlight his creativity in the final third.
Son is unfortunately going to miss the first leg against Ajax through a suspension and the mantle could fall to teammate Lucas Moura to provide the threat in attack.
