'Digging out Jose': Tottenham fans love what their player said after last night's game
Tottenham Hotspur fans think that Harry Winks has called out Jose Mourinho with his post-match comments last night.
Dig at Mourinho?
Winks fell out of favour under Mourinho, where his game time was extremely limited.
He did impress in central midfield for Spurs yesterday though, as they picked up a 3-0 win over Pacos De Ferreira to secure their progress in Europe.
Winks put in one of his best performances in recent memory, as Tottenham cruised to success.
And after the game he appeared to make some pointed remarks to the club’s official website.
“The manager has come in and he’s got us working,” he said.
“We’re fitter than we were last season, we’re working harder than we were last season, there’s a better energy than there was last season and everyone is coming together and pulling in the right direction.”
Tottenham fans were quick to pick up on the comments, and felt that Winks was taking aim at Mourinho’s management by saying them.
Tottenham’s improving fitness levels already appear to be evident under Nuno.
While Spurs were languishing towards the end of games last season, they have come on strong this time around.
Tottenham looked the fitter side against Wolves last weekend, as they saw out a 1-0 victory at Molineux.
Spurs have also pressed with more intensity and structure, which has seen them keep three clean sheets in their first four games in all competitions.
Tottenham are next in action against Watford on Sunday, when they will be looking to keep up their winning start to the new campaign.
