West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek is so good he’s “ridiculous”, Optus Sport pundit Micah Richards has claimed.
After an initial loan spell at the London Stadium last season, the Hammers decided to sign Soucek permanently in the summer for around £19million.
The former Slavia Prague man has been brilliant for West Ham, one of the key factors behind the club’s superb form so far this season.
On Tuesday, Soucek took his tally to 10 Premier League goals since he joined the Hammers last January with a brace in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.
The win over the Eagles took David Moyes’ charges into the top four of the table and, speaking after the game, Richards waxed lyrical about Soucek.
“Soucek, he has just taken his game to a different level,” Richards told Optus Sport.
“How much did they pay for him? He’s ridiculous! This is a player in great form, and he fully deserves it.”
Soucek has played a pivotal role for West Ham this season, the East Londoners flying high in the league and into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
He has totally transformed the team and the plaudits are rightly heading his way – hopefully he’ll be able to get the Hammers into Europe.
