A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to praise Filip Krovinovic’s performance in Tuesday night’s FA Cup fifth-round clash at The Hawthorns.

Slaven Bilic’s charges hosted Newcastle United and things quickly took a turn for the worse as they found themselves two down at half time and three down shortly after the restart.

Miguel Almiron struck twice in the first half and Valentino Lazaro poked home in the 47th minute to seemingly leave the Baggies facing a rout.

However, West Brom fought back as Matt Phillips pulled one back midway through the second half, before Kenneth Zohore struck in injury time for a potential unlikely comeback.

Ultimately it proved too little too late but Bilic can at least take heart in the performance later on in the game, with Krovinovic having been influential for his side after coming on in the 57th minute.

The Croatian immediately injected some pace and urgency into West Brom’s play and twice went close on goal, one effort going just over the bar and the other kept out by the Newcastle keeper.

Plenty of Albion fans were impressed with Krovinovic’s performance and took to social media to praise his efforts:

Krovinovic linked up with West Brom last summer from Portuguese giants Benfica on a season-long loan deal, Slaven Bilic’s first signing since his appointment to The Hawthorns dugout (BBC Sport).
