Timo Werner made his Tottenham debut against Manchester United at the weekend.
The German played 45 minutes against the Red Devils, and he did make an impact with an assist.
However, he was also rather wasteful with his finishing, and according to Chris Sutton, speaking on Fantasy 606, Werner didn’t look quite right against United.
Indeed, Sutton was pondering the idea of putting Werner in his FPL team, and he stated that he doesn’t think the German looked totally fit against United on Sunday.

Werner didn’t look fully fit
Sutton shared his verdict on the £15m man.
“How do you think Werner did at the weekend?
“Well, he didn’t look totally fit, it’s just his finishing which is a slight concern. I said to you about getting Werner in and it was about whether he’s a midfielder or a forward. He will get a number of opportunities, and he could just have a golden week or two couldn’t he?” Sutton said.
To be expected
Werner didn’t look as sharp as he probably could against United at the weekend, but that is to be expected somewhat.
Indeed, Werner had only started two league games this season for RB Leipzig, and he hadn’t played since early November, there was always bound to be a bit of rust.
The fact that Werner did manage to get an assist while not being fully fit is fantastic, and we can’t help but be excited by what he could produce with a few more games and a bit more match fitness under his belt.
It may take Werner a bit of time to get up to speed at Tottenham, but the early signs do suggest that he looks like he could have a real impact on this team for the remainder of this season.
Let’s hope Werner can work on his fitness during this mini break and come back firing on all cylinders.
