Didier Drogba praises Liverpool duo as Reds ease past Manchester United

Liverpool produced a sparkling performance to beat Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford – and Didier Drogba has praised two Reds stars on Twitter.

Mo Salah took his form to new heights on Sunday, taking his tally to 15 goals – with a hat-trick. The Egyptian also has five assists for Liverpool this term.

The winger also laid on an assist for Liverpool, as Naby Keita opened the scoring. A beautifully-weighted pass, saw Keita score past David De Gea.

Meanwhile, Sadio Mane has also been sensational this season – but was somewhat surprisingly dropped for Sunday’s clash against United.

The incluson of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino was one of two surprise decisions – along with Ibrahima Konate coming in alongside Virgil van Dijk.

But Mane did come on for the last 15 minutes as Liverpool ran riot. Following the win, Drogba raved about Mane and Salah on Twitter.

Drogba on Mane and Salah: Liverpool stars at top of their game

A shame, then, that both Mane and Salah will be jetting off to Africa in January to represent Senegal and Egypt in the African Cup of Nations.

Exciting for the tournament, and the countries they are representing, but not good for Liverpool. Not just because they are lacking in depth.

The form of both suggests they are likely to go far in the competition – meaning Liverpool could be without both for more than a month.

But for now, Liverpool are on fire with both players at the top of their game. So much so, that they have earned praise from Drogba.
