Leeds United were linked with many strikers over the summer, including Jordan Hugill.
Hugill was one of several targets as Leeds searched for their long-term Chris Wood replacement.
Marcelo Bielsa came in this summer and was ruthless. He axed Caleb Ekuban and Jay-Roy Grot and made it clear that he wanted a new forward.
With first-team chances at West Ham looking non-existent, Hugill was set for a loan move to the Championship.
At the time, he seemed like he may be a shrewd short-term fix up front as he had previous experience with Preston North End.
During his time at Deepdale, he grabbed a handful of Championship goals and caused problems with his physicality and energy.

Hugill was linked but instead moved to Middlesbrough. Ironically, he was a replacement for Leeds addition Patrick Bamford.
But things have not gone to plan for Hugill yet this season. In fact, he is yet to get off the mark in the league.
Boro have been creating chances but the 26-year-old has been wasteful in front of goal.
The only goal he has scored this season came in the cup against League One strugglers Rochdale.
And that was his only competitive goal since January 1st.
With just one league goal and two goals in total since the turn of the year, Leeds must be pleased they missed out on him this summer.
