'Did his bit', 'set up chances': Teenage Spurs striking sensation lauded for latest display
Spurs academy striker Kion Etete is currently on loan at Northampton, where he’s been doing really well.
The 19-year-old made the switch from Tottenham back in August and has made six appearances to date.
Etete has scored twice for the Cobblers, both goals coming in the League Cup first-round win over Coventry.
The Spurs gem is yet to score in the league, but gave a great account of himself last time out in a 2-0 win over Scunthorpe.
Etete got 75 minutes under his belt on Saturday as his loan club went fifth in League Two.
And the Northampton Chronicle liked what they saw from the Tottenham loanee, giving him 7.5 out of 10.
“Played second fiddle to his strike partner for a change, but still did his bit in giving Scunthorpe the runaround,” they wrote.
“Had one shot well blocked and was involved in some good approach play to set up chances for others.”
Etete joined Spurs in 2019, linking up with the North Londoners’ academy from non-league Notts County.
The striker, who stands 6ft 6in tall, had been making waves at Under-23s level for Tottenham.
Etete has been in and around the Spurs first-team squad this year too.
