Dick Advocaat appears to have suggested that Orkun Kokcu could leave the club this summer, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Feyenoord boss has confirmed that Arsenal want the young midfielder.
Kokcu has attracted the Gunners’ attention after a superb season with the Eredivisie side. The 19-year-old has scored two and contributed four assists in 22 league games. He has also provided two assists in five Europa League fixtures.
The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal are now in talks over a £23 million move for Kokcu ahead of the summer.
And the Mail is now suggesting that Advocaat has confirmed that there may be something in the reports.
“It seems that what I read is true, but no one has yet come to Feyenoord (to make their interest clear),” he said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
“I think he fits in everywhere.”
Kokcu looks to have the potential to be a fantastic addition for the Gunners. He is already playing top flight football on a regular basis.
The teenager is capable of playing in a central role, or slightly further forward. And a £23 million move looks to have the potential to be a real bargain.
It is interesting that the Mail is reporting that Advocaat has confirmed Arsenal’s interest, but the Feyenoord boss’ comments suggests that the club are yet to receive any official contact.
So it will be interesting to see how the coming months play out for Kokcu and Arsenal.
