Wolves retain an interest in signing Napoli midfielder Amadou Diawara this month, according to Inside Futbol.
They report that AC Milan failed with a straight loan bid for Diawara this month, but Napoli are willing to listen to offers for deals that are structured differently this month.
With Wolves reportedly interested, they could hope to exploit the fact that Diawara appears to have fallen out of favour slightly in Naples and sort out a cut-price deal.
Alternatively, they may hope to pursue a loan-to-buy deal for the midfielder, but his asking price must be lowered by the fact he has not been a part of Napoli’s plans to the extent that he might like.

Obviously, Diawara’s lack of involvement this season must raise questions about bringing him in during the mid-season window.
He may be rusty and there is clearly a reason he hasn’t been playing – so something will have to improve if he is to feature for Wolves – which makes it more important that they can organise a cheaper deal.
That could well be a genuine possibility, and given Wolves’ recent impressive work in the transfer market, it would not be a surprise to see the club pull off another eye-catching deal.
